Plast Boston
We are a local chapter within Plast Ukrainian Scouting Organization – USA. Our mission is to educate and develop Ukrainian and Ukrainian-American youth, as they grow into responsible and active citizens.
Our activities have a heavy focus on outdoor adventure and education. We enjoy camping and hiking, and teach skills like wilderness survival, map reading, and orienteering.
Scouts are organized by age:
– Novatsvo – Younger scouts ages 5-10
– Yunatsvo – Older scouts ages 11-18
– Full and Senior scouts – ages 18 +
Our scouts come from all areas of the Greater Boston Area, even as far as New Hampshire! We have recently welcomed many new scouts from Ukraine who have left their home country to escape the war.
Plast USA
Plast Boston is a chapter within a national network – Plast Ukrainian Scouting Organization – USA, commonly known as ‘Plast USA.’ There are 29 chapters and groups. with more under development.
Our national website plastusa.org has resources for counselors, information about camps, a directory, codes of conduct, and much more. Since we are a Ukrainian-language organization it is mainly in Ukrainian, but here is a page with all our important information translated into English.
