About us
We are the local Boston Chapter of Plast Ukrainian Scouting Organization – USA, a 100-year old 501c3 non-profit. Our mission is to bring self-confidence and resiliency to young Ukrainian scouts through outdoor adventure and cultural education. With war raging in Ukraine, we have welcomed many young refugees and provide a touchstone to Ukrainian traditions in their new lives in the United States.

Our core values
Plast Ukrainian Scouting – USA aims to educate Ukrainian-American youth (and now young Ukrainian refugees) to become conscious, responsible, and worthy citizens of the global scouting community

Leadership
Our Plast scouting program is designed to give members of all ages opportunities to grow and mature. As scouts gain experience, they become mentors to younger scouts creating bonds that last lifetimes.

Outdoor adventure
Hiking, camping, and orienteering are just a few of our recent adventures! Outdoor experiences give scouts a chance to develop self-reliance, resilience, and teamwork. Plus, it’s just fun.

Ukrainian Culture
We are very proud of our century-long Ukrainian scouting history. All activities are conducted in Ukrainian, and Plast scouts participate in numerous cultural events throughout the year.
Our members
Plast is a life-long activity! From the youngest (5 years old) to the oldest, scouts can be any age.
Some of our members have generations of scouting in their families – we are a 100-year old organization, after all. Many of our scouts have joined recently as they fled the war in Ukraine. Plast Boston alone has welcomed over 50 refugees into our ranks.
Our program
Plast Boston has a 12-month scouting program
During the school year, scouts meet regularly to foster skill development, leadership, and comradery. Older scouts also have a fall and spring outing. Camps are an integral part of the summer, with a core 3-week sleep-away camp and shorter specialized sports camps.
Ways you can help
Over the past three years, Plast chapters, including Boston, have welcomed many refugees and transplants from Ukraine who are escaping the traumas of war. If you would like to help us support our refugees, so that they can attend camps and participate in our scouting activities, please donate.
